Start where you are.
AI shouldn't feel like one more fire to douse. The AI Playground is a calm, practical place for nonprofit and community leaders to figure out what actually helps — and what to ignore.
AI Playground
I facilitate this workshop quarterly through the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven. It's built for leaders who know AI matters but don't have the time, budget, or in-house expertise to chase it — and who are (rightly) wary of the hype.
It draws on the same work I do through Carnelian, the digital practice I founded for the nonprofit sector, and on running communications and IT for a working nonprofit theater. So the advice comes from inside the same constraints you're operating under — not from a vendor with something to sell.
We keep it grounded in people, missions, and real budgets. No jargon wall. Just a clear-eyed look at where these tools help your work, and how to build that capability without depending on anyone else to keep it running.
